TEAM (F.I.R.S.T.): NARROWING TIMEFRAMES
TO RESOLVE QUALITY ISSUES
Industries recently launched F.I.R.S.T., the Fast Investigation Response
Solving Team, to quickly determine the root
cause of any quality control deviation that occurs. The group
amounts to a dedicated, cross-disciplinary unit that quickly responds
to production deviations and, in doing so, shortens typical
investigation times. The ultimate goal, of course, is to best
ensure on-time, defect-free delivery of customer projects.
The team is composed of members from a variety of core groups
- including Safety, Engineering, Quality, Operation and Facilities
- but can enlist personnel from any department relevant to a
specific quality issue.
to Tee Noland, President & CEO of Pharma Tech: "F.I.R.S.T. allows Pharma Tech to further fulfill
its promise of providing the best possible experience to its
customers. This team empowers key personnel to
effectively fast-track any quality control issue by expediting the
key steps, which include segregation of the product, realization of
the issue, and restarting production as quickly as possible.
From there, processes are reviewed and discussed in order to
continuously improve protocol for quality control and
PHARMACEUTICAL CUSTOMER MAINTAIN SUPPLY OF KEY PRODUCT
Pharma Tech recently began production trials on a
prescription product that treats the symptoms for dry mouth
disorder for a key global pharmaceutical customer. This
product, currently in the marketplace, was being produced at
another suppler that was having consistent supply challenges.
Pharma Tech's business development and technology transfer teams
were able to quickly put together an action plan for immediate
transfer into its 275,000-sq-ft cGMP facility in Royston, GA.
In what could have led to an extended out of stock
scenario or possible product de-listing, Pharma Tech was able to
leverage current capacity offerings coupled with custom build-out
offerings to keep the product's supply chain in operation, thereby
allowing its customer to fulfill its promises to consumers.
