SITE TRANSFER SUCCESS STORY

In 2016, Pharma Tech entered into an agreement to construct a new filling suite to support a site transfer of an approved medical device.  Our partner recognized the value of Pharma Tech's expertise in powder blending, as well as in small-volume sachet filling.  As the product had experienced some adverse manufacturing issues in the past, the brand owner sought a production environment with exemplary quality and regulatory controls.

In less than five months, Pharma Tech designed and constructed a customized suite, and began the exacting work of creating a robust, repeatable manufacturing process that could be validated for site approval.  As with many R&D projects, Pharma Tech personnel were unsure precisely what step would pose the greatest challenge, so a Design of Experiment was created to help identify and optimize the product's critical variables.

After identifying critical aspects of both blending and filling processes, the customer and our technical team were highly confident that the validation strategy was sound, and began to execute the validation batches.  Our validation runs were successful, and we have shipped the first batches to trade this month.
